The RoomBox NT can be used to control the CYP PU-O4H4C 4 by 4 HDMI V1.3 over CAT 6 Matrix. This requires two CAT 6 cables for the transmission of a high quality HDMI signal.

Connection

The COM 3 RS232 port on the RoomBox NT must be connected to the RS232 control port on the PU-O4H4C. This requires a cable with a 9-pin male D-type connector at each end with at least the following pins connected.

Pin number Pin number
1 Not used
2 3
3 2
4 Not used
5 5
6 Not used
7 Not used
8 Not used
9 Not used

Note that the COM3 port on the RoomBox NT is shared with the Program port. For this reason the above cable should be disconnected when reprogramming or configuring the RoomBox.

Configuration

The video matrix output wired to each zone should be set in the 'digital video output' field of the Zones window of the RoomBox NT PC configuration software. For zones which have no video output set the digital video output to 0. For output A on the matrix, set digital video output to 1, for output B on the matrix, set digital video output to 2, etc.

The video Matrix input connected to each HDMI video source should be set in the Sources window of the RoomBox NT PC configuration software. Due to a bug in the PC software you should set the number of the input in the 'Analogue video input' field not the 'Digital input' field.

Note the CYP video matrix switcher does not have an 'output off' function. When a room is turned off or a source with no video output is selected the last selected video input will be left connected to the screen in that zone.

Video connection and cabling

Follow the instructions in the CYP manual on connection and wiring of the video matrix.
