Products and Services
We no longer supply new systems or products. The only products and services that we provide are listed below. We are slowly winding the business down and all support will now be done via this wiki. This means that the solution to your problem can be made available to others. First try looking through the wiki to see if there is a solution there. Use the search box on the left and follow the links to find what you want. our help page. Do not email or call us until you have asked on that page.
For all products and services state your requirements on our help page. We will respond there. If you do not get a reply within a couple of days email us at the address shown on that page.
If you have a problem we can call round to help with your systems, we will fix what we can on the visit but if products need to be repaired we will have to take them away for repair - see below. Site visits will be subject to our Consultancy_conditions. If you would like a site visit, start by stating the problems that you are having on our help page
Please note that there are no 'Living Control certified technicians' and that no one can therefore be offering their services. Companies offering repair services for Living Control products are unlikely to have the parts or expertise to repair our products. Customers are advised to treat such claims with caution.
The MusicBox (that is the unit with a silver front with a CD slot) contains many standard computer components, which, like all computer components, are subject to random failure. If your MusicBox fails, which usually means that it freezes on a screen saying 'Powered by Startide', you still have several options.
Replace the whole system
Many dealers will suggest that you replace the whole multiroom system with a new one. This will undoubtedly be the most expensive option by far but it will not necessarily provide any benefit in usability and may even give you a reduction is sound quality.
Have the MusicBox repaired
If you like the way that the MusicBox works then it can be repaired. There is always the possibility that you will have to reload all your music but usually this is not the case.

Integrate another music system
If your MusicBox fails, you can replace it with a number of other devices that will let you play music from iTunes or other sources through your existing Living Control system.

When you put a CD on the MusicBox it automatically connects to an independent music database called FreeDB to get the CD and track titles. If you have a problem with this check that your MusicBox has an internet connection and that it is set up properly as shown here.
