The MusicBox menu options are:

Audio media

This shows all audio media on the MusicBox including playists

Albums by title

This shows all the albums listed by album title

Tracks by title

This shows all the tracks on all the albums listed by track title

Artists

This shows all artists on the MusicBox. Click an artist to see all albums and singles by that artist.

Playlists

This shows all the playlists that you have set up. There is also a standard playlist called 'Mobile' into which you can put media that you wish to copy to your iPod.

Styles

This shows all styles on the MusicBox. There are a number of standard styles on the MusicBox. These are:
Everything - All tracks on the MusicBox
My recent - Tracks you have recently played

You can also create and edit your own styles.

Podcasts

This shows saved radio podcasts.

Search

This brings up a page in which you can search the MusicBox for albums and tracks.

Phrase

Click 'Phrase' to enter the name, phrase or letters that you wish to search for. You can use the Mac keyboard or the displayed pop-up keyboard and the mouse.

Match

Click 'match' then click the arrows or use the arrow keys to change between:
All
Any
Exact - This finds only items that exactly match the phrase that you have entered

Fields

Use this to select whether you want to search the artist, title or both.

Scope

Use this to select whether you want to search for albums or tracks

Order

Use this to select whether you want the list of matching items to be ordered by album/track title or by artist name.

Selecting and playing music

The above screens will contain a list of playable items - albums or tracks. You can select an item using either the mouse or the up and down arrows on your keyboard. The selected item will show a row of icons for 'Play', 'Queue' and 'View'. Hover the mose over an icon to display its function.

At the bottom of the screen is a 'Edit' icon, marked 'Title Artist'. Click this to enable additional editing features.

Playing an item

Select then either click the play icon or press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard This will play the item and move to the playing screen

Queuing an item

You can add a selected item to the current queue of items waiting to be played by clicking the 'Queue' icon.

Viewing an item

You can view the list of tracks in an album by clicking the 'View' icon. You can then select and play individual tracks.

Lookup

This feature must be enabled by clicking the 'Edit' icon, marked 'Title Artist' at the bottom of the screen.

Click the 'Lookup' icon to look up a track or album on the Freedb online database

Recompress

This feature must be enabled by clicking the 'Edit' icon, marked 'Title Artist' at the bottom of the screen.

Click this icon to recompress a track or album.

Delete

This feature must be enabled by clicking the 'Edit' icon, marked 'Title Artist' at the bottom of the screen.

Click this icon to delete a track or album.

Styles

Playing

Select the style then either click the play icon or press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard This will move to the playing screen and play the items of the chosen style in random order.

Creating

To create a new style click the 'Create' icon at the bottom of the page. [MusicBox_manual_-_Using_the_MusicBox_Mac_GUI-Text editing|Enter]] the name of the new style.

Adding and removing tracks and albums

To add or remove tracks or albums from a style you must play a track or album as described above. This will take you to the playing screen where you can set up and styles and playlists.

Playlists

Playing

Select then either click the play icon or press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard This will move to the playing screen and play the items on your playlist in the order that they are on the list and .

Creating

Click the 'Add' icon at the bottom of the screen. Enter the name of your new playlist.

Adding and removing tracks and albums

Move the mouse to the playlist and click the 'View' icon. This will show all the items currently on your playlist.

Click the 'Add music' icon at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to the 'Add music' screen where you can add items to your playlist.
